thursday thoughts on color

For our faithful Facebook followers (say that three times fast), you will soon be in for a treat (and we will look forward to it, too!). We are constantly inspired by what we see around the shop (ribbons piled together on a shelf or the perfect pair of flowers in the cooler) and would like to share our thoughts with you. On Thursdays.

fresh ideas….

for the love of swiss satin

The Swiss are known for chocolate, but did you know about their satin ribbon, too? On our quest to be the best wedding ribbon supplier west of the Mississippi, we stumbled upon our new favorite--Swiss Satin ribbon. We are in love with the rich, complex colors--and once you touch it-- you know you are looking at some luxe ribbon! Indulge in this high quality ribbon for your important events! Only $13.95 for a 27 yard bolt of No. 3, and $30.50 for a 27 yard bolt of No. 9.

rave of the week…………………..……………………………

what goes around…. comes around

If you been in the fashion industry long enough (and yes… your twentysomethings consider the floral industry part of fashion), you know the old adage holds true. What goes around. Comes around. With the rage about vintage going around, there is a new spin on “antiques.”

We are sure you’ve had the ‘no baby’s breath’ request from your clients--but judging from recent blogs we predict a baby’s breath revival. But don’t think about baby’s breath as a filler anymore! This ethereal bloom takes the spotlight when used ‘en masse’. Think billowy clouds hung from the ceiling (wasn’t that Preston?), or as oversized faux dandelion heads in a Thumbelina-inspired event.

This trend can versatile and can come off as modern when paired with cool grays and lucite, or anthropologie-esque teamed with muted pinks, aquas, and chippy paint. So, turn some heads and try this trend in your shop next week! A simple container over filled with baby’s breath and a pair of butterflies landing on top would be a great get well or birthday design! Or, try adding your window displays for something unexpected!
