what it’s like to be preston bailey

When we hear names like Preston Bailey, Colin Cowie, and Nancy Liu Chin being tossed out, we are awestruck by their celeb status and their A-list clientele (what would it be like being Oprah’s florist?). But--believe it or not--they are human florists, too!

Preston Bailey has a fantastic blog (put it on your weekly reading list!). On his blog, Preston confesses some of his hard learned lessons in the business (losing $25,000 because of a contract loophole!), answers questions from fellow florists, speaks on running a successful business, and posts pictures of his work.

Unlike most celebrity designers who use their blog to speak directly to brides, Preston has carefully geared his blog towards a unique audience: fellow designers (which is why we love it!). Preston talks candidly about how he got his start, some of the mistakes he has made and issues that affect every designer no matter how big or small. In this week’s post, Preston focuses on a common mistake made by designers: not knowing (and charging for) their worth. Do you know yours?

rave of the week…………………..……………………………

chandelier love

We have been waiting a long time for this product to arrive! We were actually number 800 something on the waiting list for this sparkly stuff.

We’ve been ogling over crystal encrusted trees for weddings and events for awhile now and have been searching for the perfect product (at the perfect price!). These “Chandelier Garlands” are perfect for draping and hanging! The jump rings between each crystal can be cut or used as a place to add a wire hook. At only $6.95 per six-foot length--these are sure to go fast!
