changing the game of competition

In a time where every sale counts, it’s hard not to get wrapped up in your competition (and more importantly your competition’s price point). We all need to remember that the reason we got into this business was to do things our own way--in our own style. Our goal everyday should be making sure everything in your shop is true to yourself. Ultimately you want to be LESS like your competition and more like yourself. Sean Low explains this in an article found here on his blog.

you ask, we deliver

Fitz Design’s Flower Necklace and Athena Arm Band are two of this season’s hottest sellers.  One of the questions posed at our open house was how to package these larger items and we’ve got you covered!

In stock are Extra Large Corsage Boxes.  Big enough for statement pieces and big blooms, these boxes are priced at only $0.65 each. We will be selling them individually, so just let us know how many you need!

teen prom: what’s there and what’s not

Prom season will be full swing in just a couple of weeks and we couldn’t resist picking up the latest issue of Teen Prom! Inside are pages dedicated to dresses, accessories, makeup and ways to save money. If you are wondering what your prom goers are thinking about, magazines like this one will give you the inside track.

So what’s big? Animal print is everywhere (as we predicted)! Almost every dress designer features at least one animal print dress.  From tiger to cheetah and abstract leopard to peacock plumes, these prints are even showing up mixed with other patterns in lots of bold colors. Animals are just for dresses, the magazines trend alert features jewel encrusted animal rings as well as animal print clutches and hair accessories.

What’s curiously missing in Teen Prom, however, are flowers! With over 300 pages dedicated to all things prom, there is not one mention (or photo) of a corsage, boutonniere or even a hair flower. Needless to say, we were surprised and appalled by this fact. We believe Teen Prom is missing out because prom flowers today are not your mother’s corsage. We will be drafting a letter to the editor and will keep you posted on any response!
